Large Databases: Backups of large databases—especially those containing heavy tables or large BLOBs—may take significantly longer to complete. Uploading these backups to cloud storage providers will also increase total execution time. Local backups are generally much faster.
Cloud Upload Reliability: When handling large volumes of data, upload failures may occasionally occur with services such as Supabase Storage, Cloudflare R2, Storj, Backblaze B2, AWS S3, pCloud, Nextcloud, or Seafile. In most cases, simply retrying the backup resolves the issue.
Environment Configuration: Verify that all required environment variables in the .env file are correctly configured. Missing or invalid credentials are a common cause of backup or upload failures.
Supabase Compatibility: Supackup supports both Supabase Cloud and self-hosted Supabase deployments without additional configuration.
Running as Root: Executing Supackup as root is supported. Ensure that local backup directories have the appropriate permissions to prevent write or access errors.
